Batch image upscaling and background removal on Windows

Pixel Up lets you queue multiple images for local AI processing. Upscale and Remove Background have separate workspaces, settings, and output folders, so you can use either tool for a particular batch.

Quick answer

Add several files to one tool, select the items to process, choose an output folder, and start the queue. Review each finished result and rerun only the images that need a different setting. Pixel Up does not automatically chain Upscale and Remove Background together.

Choose the queue for the result you need

For example, if a folder of product photos already has good resolution but needs cutouts, use Remove Background only. If the photos are small and you want larger images, use Upscale. To apply both operations, you choose and run each workspace separately.

Set up a batch

  1. Open the desired workspace and add PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, or TIFF files by dragging them into the drop zone or using the file picker.
  2. Select all or only the images you want to process now.
  3. Set the model, output format, or edge refinement where applicable, and choose the destination folder.
  4. Start processing. The queue shows each item’s progress and result. You can pause work, clear finished items, or rerun a specific image.

On slower PCs, a large source image can take longer or use more memory than several smaller files. Upscale may reduce tile size or retry on CPU if GPU processing fails. For especially large originals, try 2× first and read the memory guidance.

How the free export limits work

The free version includes 10 completed Upscale exports and 10 completed Remove Background exports. These are two independent limits. A failed or cancelled job does not consume an export, while each successful export does, including a successful rerun. A queue can contain more images than your remaining free exports; Pro removes the limits.

Both tools process the image files locally. All required AI models are included with the Windows app. Internet is used for Store installation or updates and for optional Pro checkout, activation, and periodic license checks.
