1. Fundamental Architecture: On-Device Processing

PixelUp is built from the ground up as a native Windows desktop application. Unlike web-based image manipulation services, PixelUp processes all images locally on your computer hardware.

  • No Image Uploads: Your source images, intermediate processing buffers, and exported files are never transmitted to external servers, cloud storage buckets, or third-party APIs.
  • Local Storage: Input and output paths are located entirely within your chosen local directories (such as your Windows Pictures folder or custom chosen directories).

2. Network Activity & Model Downloads

PixelUp does not require an active internet connection for everyday image processing. The only network operations performed by the application are:

  • First-Use Background Removal Model: When you initiate background removal for the first time, PixelUp contacts Hugging Face repositories to download the open-source BEN2 model file (approximately 223 MB). The downloaded file is cryptographically verified against a hardcoded SHA-256 hash before execution. Once saved to your local model directory, all subsequent background removals run completely offline.
  • Upscaling Models: Real-ESRGAN upscaling models are bundled directly with the application installation and require zero network access.

3. Data Collection and Local History

PixelUp does not upload or remotely collect your image contents. The Upscale tool keeps a local history of up to 200 generated outputs, including the output path, file name, dimensions, creation time, and selected model. This history is stored only in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PixelUp\history.json and is not synchronized with external servers. Entries whose output files no longer exist are pruned automatically.

  • We do not operate third-party tracking scripts, advertising trackers, or telemetry beacons inside the desktop software.
  • Application settings (such as GPU preferences, selected tile sizes, and output paths) are stored locally in your Windows user profile folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\PixelUp\settings.json) and never synced to external servers.

4. Payment Processing & Commercial Orders

When PixelUp opens for commercial purchase, transactions will be handled by an authorized third-party Merchant of Record or authorized payment provider. PixelUp does not process or store payment card details, banking credentials, or billing addresses directly.

All image processing is conducted entirely locally on your machine; no image files, pixel buffers, or output metadata are ever transmitted to any payment provider. When sales open, the selected payment provider will collect and process order, billing, and transaction details strictly in accordance with its own privacy policy and legal requirements.

5. Updates and Inquiries

For privacy inquiries or technical questions regarding data handling, please contact us at corelink.support@gmail.com. This privacy policy may be updated prior to commercial release to reflect final corporate entity details and chosen payment provider policies.
