1. Software License & Commercial Terms
Subject to these Terms, the publisher of Pixel Up grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the Pixel Up desktop application on compatible 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 devices.
- Pro Price: Pixel Up Pro is offered as a $19.99 USD one-time purchase, with no recurring subscription. Checkout is handled by Polar in your browser.
- Free Exports: Pixel Up includes up to 10 successful image exports with Upscale and 10 with Remove Background. These quotas are independent. Trial exports use full quality with no watermark. Failed or cancelled jobs do not count; each successfully exported image file, including a rerun, counts once.
- Post-Trial Access: Once a feature's free exports are exhausted, a valid Pro license is required for further exports. Pro is intended for one user on up to two activated devices.
- License Validation: Activation and periodic verification contact Polar. Temporary offline access may be available after an online verification, but permanent offline operation and indefinite major-version upgrades are not included.
2. Permitted Use and Restrictions
You may use PixelUp to process, upscale, and remove backgrounds from images for personal or commercial projects. You agree not to:
- Decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the proprietary application shell, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, or host the software as a multi-tenant cloud service or automated API endpoint without prior authorization.
- Circumvent or tamper with technical protection or memory safety mechanisms implemented within the software.
3. Third-Party and Open Source Components
PixelUp bundles and interfaces with third-party open-source libraries and machine learning models, including Real-ESRGAN (BSD-3-Clause) and BEN2 (MIT). Use of these third-party components is governed by their respective licenses, which remain in full force and effect. For complete attribution notices and license texts, please visit our Open Source Licenses page.
4. Hardware Performance & Compatibility
A DirectX 12-compatible NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel GPU is recommended for faster processing through DirectML. If DirectML fails, Pixel Up retries on CPU, which can be substantially slower. Upscale reduces large GPU tiles on supported device failures and limits CPU tile size. Memory requirements depend on the source image dimensions and selected scale; Pixel Up checks available memory before processing very large images.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
PixelUp is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. The developer does not warrant that AI model outputs will always achieve specific artistic expectations or produce flawless cutouts on all complex imagery.
