1. Software License & Commercial Terms
Subject to these Terms, PixelUp grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the PixelUp desktop application on compatible Windows devices running Windows 10 version 2004 / Build 19041 or later, or Windows 11 (planned for 64-bit x64 systems).
- Planned Commercial Price: PixelUp is planned as a $19.99 USD one-time purchase. There are no recurring subscriptions or per-image usage fees.
- Planned Free Trial: At launch, PixelUp is planned to include a trial allowing up to 10 successful image exports with the Upscale tool and 10 successful image exports with the Remove Background tool before purchase. The two quotas are independent. Trial exports are rendered in full quality with no watermark. Failed or cancelled operations do not count against the quota, while each successfully exported image file (including reruns) counts once.
- Post-Trial Access: Following completion of the trial exports, purchase of a commercial license will be required to continue processing images. The commercial license grants access to local image processing on your device without recurring cloud fees.
- Scope of License: The license does not include guarantees of indefinite lifetime major updates, permanent offline operation across all future versions, or a specified device allocation until the final licensing architecture is published.
2. Permitted Use and Restrictions
You may use PixelUp to process, upscale, and remove backgrounds from images for personal or commercial projects. You agree not to:
- Decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the proprietary application shell, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, or host the software as a multi-tenant cloud service or automated API endpoint without prior authorization.
- Circumvent or tamper with technical protection or memory safety mechanisms implemented within the software.
3. Third-Party and Open Source Components
PixelUp bundles and interfaces with third-party open-source libraries and machine learning models, including Real-ESRGAN (BSD-3-Clause) and BEN2 (MIT). Use of these third-party components is governed by their respective licenses, which remain in full force and effect. For complete attribution notices and license texts, please visit our Open Source Licenses page.
4. Hardware Performance & Compatibility
A DirectX 12-compatible NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel GPU is recommended for faster processing through DirectML. PixelUp can use a slower CPU fallback after supported GPU execution failures. Memory requirements depend on the source image dimensions and selected scale. PixelUp checks available memory before processing very large images.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
PixelUp is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. The developer does not warrant that AI model outputs will always achieve specific artistic expectations or produce flawless cutouts on all complex imagery.
